Announcing the inauguration of a new Biogas plant at the Ghogha Dairy, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Friday that waste disposal involves meticulous planning and implementation.
The new plant will process 100 tonnes of wet waste in a day and produce compressed biogas from it.

Rekha Gupta said that the government, with concrete planning, was working to realise garbage-free Delhi.
She said the CBG plant and integrated fuel station have been established near Narela in North- West Delhi by the municipal corporation. The waste-to-energy plant will not only help address the issue of waste disposal but add to the energy supply with its produce.
Expressing her joy over the works done by her government to fulfill the promises made to the people of the city regarding making it garbage free, Gupta said all such projects would help fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of a self-reliant and future ready India.
Gupta also said that the government has already started installation of solar power systems at government buildings. She said when the solar panels will be installed across the government buildings, it is going to give a major boost to the capital in terms of green energy.
The CM also shared that recently a high-capacity biogas production plant was launched in Nangli Dairy, which is going to use the cow dung cattle waste, and convert the same into biogas.
She also attended the International Conference on Bio-energy and technology, where people brought together different ideas related to bio-energy, ethanol, compressed natural gas, bio- mobility and sustainable aviation fuel.
The chief minister said it is not just about technology, but the direction of the future.
