Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday appealed to the residents of the national capital to support the Swadeshi (indigenous products) while she also mentioned that everyone is happy with the GST reforms, introduced by the central government, a gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of Diwali.
Gupta, who was at a Delhi market, said that the GST reforms have not only made the consumers happy, but also the business community.

During a visit to the Totaram bazaar in Delhi’s Tri Nagar, while meeting traders and consumers, CM gave a call to all Indians to make every home a symbol of Swadeshi.
On the occasion, CM also put up ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi’ stickers at the shops, and asked people to use ‘Swadeshi’ products.
She was here to be part of the GST savings festival, and has stated that these reforms will empower the poor, youth, farmers, women, traders, and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), and contribute towards the vision of a self-reliant India.
CM has also said that the long-pending GST refunds for traders will be released in a timely and prompt manner, which will give them immediate relief.
According to the CM, with these reforms, the common people will now have more ease in running their households.
The direct benefit through the GST given by the PM directly to the 140 crore citizens is like a big gift this Diwali, and will benefit everyone, especially the middle class, she added.
She said that this time, the PM has transformed the Navratri fest into a ‘Savings Festival’.
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma, who visited Bengali Market on Monday with the introduction of new GST, said that all shopkeepers, and the consumers who have come to buy things are thanking PM for the benefits.
He also congratulated the market association for revising the prices according to the new system starting in the morning, while the consumers were getting discounts according to the new GST.
Verma said that such benefits coming at the time of festivities have brought more happiness amongst the common people, who are hailing PM’s decision.
