Days after Junaid Khan was brutally killed in a local train, Haryana Police appear to be totally "clueless" about the main accused who stabbed the 17-year-old to death after an altercation over a train seat turned communal near Ballabhgarh.

Police sources in Government Railway Police (GRP) of Ambala Cantt told The Statesman that they are unable to make a proper sketch of the main accused in the killing of Junaid.

"There is confusion over the sketch as we have not received the exact description of the accused," said a police source. Sources said even after releasing the CCTV footage of suspected persons they have not got any leads.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (GRP) Mohinder Singh said they have announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for anyone who provides information about the main culprit.

"We have not got any proper information so far even after the announcement of the reward," said Singh, adding that raids are continuing in Haryana.

Police officials, who are struggling to find any witnesses in the case, have promised to keep secret the identity of those who come forward and help in the investigation. GRP has also shared a few clues with different police districts.

Junaid‘s father Jalaluddin said his other son Hashim was called by police to help them in making the sketch. "On Tuesday he went to police station to help police make a sketch of the accused," said Jalaluddin.

In some relief for the grief-stricken family, their other son Shaqir who was also brutally attacked by the mob has returned home from hospital and is stated to be out of danger.

"Utna nahi bol raha, par baate kar raha hain (He is not talking much but at least he has started speaking).

He is in pain as he was stabbed near his neck," said his father.

The main concern of the family is Junaid's mother Saira who remains inconsolable and has not eaten at all.  Jalaluddin said her health is deteriorating.

So far police have arrested five men in the case who have not given sufficient details about the key accused.
