In the current competitive market scenario at national and international level, it is all the more imperative for all businesses to show greater strength and courage, said Odisha Governor Dr S C Jamir. He pointed out that the government is doing its best in terms of ease of doing business in the country.

Dr Jamir was addressing the India International Mega Trade Fair and REDA Home Décor organized by Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Real Estate Developers Association and GS Marketing Associates here on Friday.

Odisha is fast emerging as the manufacturing hub of the East in India through its industry-friendly environment and policy framework, he noted. The State has undertaken a series of initiatives to broadbase the industrial development by attracting investments across diversified sectors with significant potential.

We need to constantly fine-tune the skills of our work force, the Governor observed. There is an urgent need to incorporate skill development and vocational training in the process of our economic growth. The vision of inclusiveness is not just removal of poverty but it encompasses equality of opportunity, as well as economic and social mobility for all sections of society. This must be accompanied by an improvement in the opportunities for economic and social advancement, he added.

The trade fair is an ideal platform for the participants to enhance their visibility both locally and internationally, offering vast opportunities. Bhubaneswar Mayor, Ananta Narayan Jena, MLA Bijay Kumar Mohanty, MLA, Ramesh Mohapatra, president, Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prakash Shah, Chairman, Trade Promotion and Buiness Development Committee, Kantilal Patel, President, Real Estate Developers Association, Smarajit Purakayastha, Asst. Director General, Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry among others spoke on the occasion.
