Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Wednesday called out former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s demand for a Nobel Prize as a “crude joke”.
Sachdeva slammed the national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and said city residents are stunned to hear about Kejriwal’s desire for a Nobel Prize. “Kejriwal should know he would definitely get one — if there were categories for incompetence, anarchy, and corruption,” he added.

Addressing a public gathering in Mohali on Tuesday, Kejriwal said he deserved a Nobel Prize for his work in governance and administration in the national capital, despite what he described as persistent obstruction by the central government.
“As long as our government was in power, we continued to work despite constant disruption from the Centre. I feel I should get a Nobel Prize for administration and governance for the amount of work I have done as chief minister,” he had said.
His remarks sparked a political row across the country.
Sachdeva raised questions about Kejriwal’s past associations with foreign funding agencies, including the American Ford Foundation, and suggested these links may have influenced his receipt of the Magsaysay Award. “He has been spreading anarchy in the country with the help of foreign funds since his youth,” the Delhi BJP President alleged.
He also accused Kejriwal of colluding with relatives and private companies to carry out multiple scams during AAP’s rule in Delhi.
The BJP leader also claimed a series of alleged scandals, including irregularities in the women’s pension scheme, the panic button initiative for women’s safety, a transport-related scam, the school classroom construction project, the surveillance scandal, the liquor policy case, and the construction of the Sheeshmahal bungalow.
Sachdeva remarked, “There is no Nobel Prize for these scandals – only jail time.”
