During the operations on 11 and 12 July, police registered 20 specific cases, including 20 cases under the Excise Act and three cases under NDPS Act.
The accused, identified as Rajesh Sachdeva, was booked by Sector-3 police station for allegedly organising a promotional event in which alcohol was openly distributed to the public to market a new liquor brand.
The Maharashtra government has revised its excise policy to allow liquor sales on Holi, Muharram and Gandhi Jayanti, citing the need to control black-market alcohol trade and improve regulation.
