Recall order cancelling parole: Roy urges SC

thestatesman.com |

Sahara chief Subrata Roy on Friday urged the Supreme Court to recall its order cancelling his parole, officials said.

Assuring to tender unconditional apology for declaring properties that were already under attachment by Income Tax authorities to market regulator SEBI, Roy urged the apex court to reconsider its decision.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice TS Thakur said that he will consult other judges to consider Roy&’s plea.

Earlier in the day, the SC refused to extend Roy&’s parole and directed the police to take him into custody.

The bench headed by Thakur cancelled the "interim arrangements" of granting parole as they were peeved at Sahara for declaring properties to SEBI that were already under attachment by Income Tax authorities.

The Chief Justice immediately ordered the cancellation of parole and directed Roy along with two other directors of Sahara to be taken into custody.

The trio will remain in police custody till October 3 which is the next date for hearing.
