Healthy quarterly earnings results buoyed the key indices of the Indian equity market during the morning trade session on Monday.

According to market observers, healthy buying in oil and gas, banking and metals stocks supported the indices’ upward movement.

Around 9.35 a.m., the broader Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) traded at 11,301.75 points — up by 23.40 points or 0.21 per cent — from its previous close.

The barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), which opened at 37,491.39 points, traded at 37,409.45 points — higher by 72.60 points or 0.19 per cent — from its previous session’s close of 37,336.85 points.

Sensex has so far touched a high of 37,496.80 points and a low of 37,352.65 points during the intra-day trade.

On Friday — the previous trade session — both the indices touched their record intra-day and closing highs.

The indices had settled at their respective highest closing levels of 37,336.85 points and 11,278.35 points after touching intra-day records of 37,368.62 points and 11,283.40 points on Friday.
