Women from the villages of Bermajur and Jhupkhali in Sandeshkhali took to the streets today, expressing their dissatisfaction as Sheikh Sirajuddin, also known as Doctor Siraj, who is also brother of Sheikh Shahjahan and his followers have yet not been arrested.

Police today also promulgated Section 144 CrPc in several areas. Despite the arrest of Sheikh Shahjahan, the unrest persists, and now the focus turns towards Sheikh Sirajuddin and his followers. The stage is now set for Hazi Nurul Islam, a name that emerged in response to the void left by Nusrat Jahan. As his name is revealed as candidate of Basirhat constituency, yesterday the flames of protest intensified in Sandeshkhali.

Local women, frustrated with alleged injustice, continue their demonstrations, burning tires and making their grievances visible. Accusations of land encroachment against Sheikh Sirajuddin have rekindled tension, with Bermajur becoming a focal point of discontent.
