Unnatural death of nurse sparks stir

The body of a nurse employed at a private medical college hospital in Malandighi, Kanksha, in West Burdwan district was found lying in a pool of blood in front of a multi-storey building last night.

The deceased, Mandira Pal, has been sent to Durgapur Sub-Divisional Hospital for a post-mortem examination. She was a resident of Loharpara in Bishnupur, Bankura district.

Kanksha police station, under the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate (ADPC), has initiated an investigation into the unnatural death of the 24-year-old nurse.

Sources said that her relatives, family members, friends and colleagues will be questioned by the police.

It is still unclear how the nurse fell from the multi-storey building in Gopalpur, Kanksha. Police have also contacted the authorities of the private medical college hospital in Malandighi to gather further information about her.
