Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben, who was on a two-day visit to Dhanbad in Jharkhand, offered puja at Kalyaneswari temple at Asansol. She came to Kalnyaneswari temple at about 12.30 PM today and spent around half an hour inside the temple. Mr Ganesh Deogharia, priest of Kalyaneswari Temple, said that she has heard about the temple yesterday and expressed her keenness to visit today.

“Madam offered puja to the Goddess and asked details about the temple from me. She has been very polite throughout her stay here,”he added. Mr Robin Gorai and Smt. Amita Gorai of Dhanbad Sahoo Baisya Jharkhand Pradesh Yuva Prakosthya accompanied her. From Goddess Ma Kalyaneswari temple, she visited the Maithon Dam. Though she enjoyed the scenic beauty of the first multipurpose river valley project of independent india, but she preferred watching the sights and scenes from her vehicle. She took rest at the Maithon Circuit House before going back to Dhanbad.

The Prime Minister’s wife has reached Dhanbad yesterday in the invitation of All India Sahoo Baisya Jharkhand Pradesh Yuva Prakosthya. She was felicitated at Lindsay Club at Dhanbad. Jashodaben arrived at Dhanbad by Howrah – Jodhpur Express and reached the city at about 3.30 p.m. yesterday. She has also offered puja at Shankti mandir near Joraphatak in Dhanbad on the day. Jharkhand government has arranged tight security for her. Mr Ashok Modi, her brother, accompanied her during her tour.
