A couple, both of whom work in the police department, returned home this morning to find that a burglary had been committed in their house.
Milan Soren and wife Durga Soren, are residents of Farmside road, Anandamath area in Chinsurah.
Mr. Soren, who works as a traffic guard constable at Sodpur, was away on duty on Sunday, and Mrs. Durga, a civic volunteer of Chinsurah police station, was staying at her father’s home.

Durga Soren said: “The burglars have broke open the doors and the safe, they have taken away cash of Rs 10,000 and gold ornaments worth more than a lakh.” The Chinsurah police conducted a spot investigation and are now on the lookout for the burglars.
