South East Traffic Guard of Kolkata Police along with Disha Eye Hospitals organised a free eye screening camp for the drivers of the public transport at Gariahat crossing, today. Mr Sambaran Banerjee, former cricketer & national selector, Officer in-charge of the South East Traffic Guard, Asish Kumar Roy and Debasish Bhattacharya, MD & Chairman, Disha Eye Hospitals were present for the inauguration of the camp.
On its very first day, the voluntary camp held authentic retinal screening and provided adequate suggestions to a significant number of auto, taxi, rickshaw and toto drivers. The hawkers across the street also availed the free eye screening facility and the representatives present there assisted them.
Such camp will be held next at Thakurpur, followed by at Barrackpore and Chinar Park in subsequent weeks.
