Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that the lockdown restrictions will not be relaxed in the national capital after April 20, pointing out that the number of corona positive cases were on the rise in the city.
The US has been the worst hit by coronavirus outbreak in the world with highest number of cases -718,000 confirmed infections and 37,700 fatalities so far.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Imran Khan has extended the ongoing lockdown until the end of this month to fight the pandemic.

‘Delhi, where two per cent of the country’s total population lives but 12 per cent of the total cases in India are from the national capital. Therefore, there will not be any relaxation in the lockdown,’ said CM Kejriwal.
The decision came days after the government had allowed the sale of goods like mobile phones, refrigerators, clothes, television sets and laptops amid the lockdown.
Yesterday, a meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) over COVID-19 was held at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence as the lockdown relaxations in non-hotspot zones comes into effect on Monday. Attendees expressed concern over resuming trains and flights according to the sources. And the final decision on this is going to be taken after discussion from the Union Health Ministry.
Sri Lanka has so far reported 254 confirmed coronavirus cases, with seven deaths.
