Film faced leak trouble earlier this year

Earlier this year in April, the makers faced an unexpected challenge after leaked images from the film’s sets began circulating online.

At the time, Hanu Raghavapudi appealed to fans not to share the leaked pictures. He said the entire team had worked with dedication to create something special and requested everyone to wait and enjoy the film in theatres instead of spreading leaked content.

The production team also issued a strong warning through the film’s official social media account. They said any account sharing leaked material would be reported and appropriate action would be taken. The makers added that such leaks could spoil the cinematic experience they were carefully building and urged audiences not to engage with the unauthorised images.

About the film

‘Fauzi’ is set in the 1940s and is described as a fictional historical action drama. Before its official title was revealed, the project was popularly known as #PrabhasHanu.

While unveiling the title, the makers used Sanskrit shlokas, leading many to wonder if the film had mythological themes. Hanu Raghavapudi later clarified that this is not a mythological film. According to him, the Sanskrit verses were included to bring depth and meaning to the story.

He explained that the film only takes philosophical inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita and is instead a patriotic drama that explores human emotions and socio-political conflicts during British rule. The director believes many of those themes continue to remain relevant across the world even today.

Prabhas returns to a grand period epic

Known for visually rich films such as ‘Sita Ramam’, Hanu Raghavapudi is reportedly creating ‘Fauzi’ on a grand scale. The film will focus on the bravery and emotional struggles of its central character.

Prabhas is said to play a layered role caught between duty, personal emotions and ideology. The film also marks his return to a large-scale period drama after the success of ‘Baahubali’. It is expected to release in multiple languages.

Cast and technical team

The film introduces Imanvi as the female lead opposite Prabhas. The supporting cast includes veteran actors Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhanu Chander, and Jayapradha in important roles.

Music has been composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, who earlier collaborated with Hanu Raghavapudi on the blockbuster ‘Sita Ramam’. The cinematography is handled by Sudeep Chatterjee, while Krishna Kanth has written the song lyrics. Costumes for the period drama have been designed by Sheetal Sharma.
