The visit comes days after PM Modi hosted Sanae Takaichi in New Delhi for the India-Japan Summit.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the ongoing developments in the region.

Sharing details of the meeting in a post on X, Jaishankar said, “Delighted to meet FM Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of Bahrain in Manama today.”

“Expressed deep appreciation for ensuring the well-being of the Indian community,” the EAM said.
“Discussed deepening our bilateral cooperation. Exchanged views on ongoing developments in the region,” he added.
Jaishankar arrived in Bahrain after concluding his engagements in Qatar. During his visit to Doha, he met Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and interacted with members of the Indian community in Qatar.
After concluding his engagements in Bahrain, the External Affairs Minister is scheduled to visit Kuwait, Oman, the United States and Brussels.
On July 5, Jaishankar met Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in Doha as part of his multi-nation tour. During the meeting, the two sides explored new opportunities to deepen the strategic partnership between India and Qatar.
In a post on X, Jaishankar described the meeting as “a pleasure” and thanked the Qatari leadership for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community in the Gulf nation.
He said the discussions covered a wide range of areas of bilateral cooperation, including energy, trade, investment, connectivity, security and people-to-people ties.

Reviewed various facets of our bilateral cooperation, especially energy, trade, investment, connectivity, security and people-to-people ties. Explored new opportunities for deepening our Strategic Partnership,” Jaishankar posted on X.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Jaishankar is on an official visit to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman from July 5 to July 10.
The visit to the Gulf countries will provide the External Affairs Minister an opportunity to understand their perspectives on the evolving situation in West Asia following the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Both Qatar and Oman played significant roles in facilitating the ceasefire.
During the tour, Jaishankar will hold meetings with his counterparts and the leadership of the four countries.
“The visit will focus on enhancing our bilateral relations with the four countries and also provide an opportunity to exchange views on regional developments and issues of mutual interest,” the MEA said.
The visit is aimed at strengthening India’s bilateral ties with the four countries while discussing regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
