The National Testing Agency has started evaluating NEET-UG 2026 re-examination answer sheets and is scrutinising over 10,000 objections to the provisional answer key before announcing the results.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started evaluating answer sheets for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, with the results expected to be announced shortly, according to official sources.
The evaluation process comes after the agency received more than 10,000 objections to the provisional answer key. Sources said every challenge is being examined before the final answer key and results are released.

The nationwide re-examination was held on June 21 across India and at 14 overseas centres. It was ordered following the alleged NEET paper leak case, which is under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

According to the NTA, more than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination at 5,440 centres in India and 14 centres abroad. The test was conducted in 13 languages, including Hindi and English.
The NTA said the examination involved coordinated efforts by multiple government departments and institutions.
The agency said special arrangements were made for more than 10,000 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Around 81 candidates with medical conditions were also provided assistance, including a child recovering from a road accident and another undergoing chemotherapy, to ensure they could take the examination.
According to the NTA, the examination was conducted with support from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), the Ministries of Home Affairs, Education, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, External Affairs, Electronics and Information Technology, the Department of Posts, the Department of Financial Services, the Indian Air Force, the National Informatics Centre (NIC), and banking partners including SBI, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB) and UCO Bank, along with state governments and other stakeholders.
The re-examination was conducted after allegations of a paper leak prompted a CBI probe, in which several arrests have been made.
