In a major success for security forces along the Line of Control (LoC), the Indian Army on Sunday foiled an exfiltration attempt in north Kashmir’s Uri and apprehended two Sopore residents along with their guide, while separately capturing a PoJK intruder trying to cross into Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring the continued challenges along the sensitive frontier.
The Chinar Corps in a post on X said; “Based on specific intelligence input, a joint search operation was launched by Indian Army and @JmuKmrPolice in the general area of Uri, Baramulla”.

“Two individuals from Sopore apprehended by vigilant Chinar Warriors while attempting exfiltration in Uri Sector with inimical intent alongwith their accomplice guide. Further probe underway.”
In another post, the Chinar Corps said; “A POJK intruder has been apprehended, who was intercepted by alert Chinar Warriors while crossing the Line of Control in Uri Sector. The vigilant troops maintained restraint while challenging the intruder and surgically apprehended the individual. Intruder handed over to JKP for further legal proceedings”.
The Pakistan National Identity Card recovered from the intruder shows his name as Zeeshan Mir. Further investigation was being done by J&K Police.
Meanwhile, Northern Army Commander Lt. General Pratik Sharma visited units deployed along the Line of Control in Kupwara Sector to assess the robustness of the anti-infiltration grid and review Operational Preparedness.
The Army Commander also witnessed a demonstration of innovations successfully implemented in field conditions to integrate Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and Counter Unmanned Aerial System (CUAS) with Techniques Training and Procedures (TTPs) for enhanced combat capabilities along the Line of Control. He commended all ranks for their battle hardened resilience, indomitable courage & relentless commitment to duty amidst a challenging operating environment.
He stressed upon continuation of persistent endeavours to improve battle drills & skills to become technically adept, mentally robust and tactically agile.
