Iranian Parliament Speaker and key negotiator with the United States, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, on Sunday said that Tehran will not sign the peace deal until its rights are secured.
According to Iranian state media, Ghalibaf asserted that Tehran doesn’t trust ‘enemy promises’ and only objective results matter for the Islamic Republic.

He said that Iran is relying on national unity and pushing back the enemy in a “history-making” war.

“We are pushing back the enemy in a great and history-making war. As the Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized, the most important factor in victory in this war is cohesion and unity,” he said.
The Iranian leader’s remarks came amid reports that Washington and Tehran are closer to finalising a memorandum of understanding on ending the war.
According to Ghalibaf, the enemy retreated due to the unity of the Iranian people along with the country’s military power and defensive readiness.
“What has brought about the enemy’s retreat, along with the military power and defensive readiness of Iranian fighters, is the people’s steadfastness and unity in the face of the mighty enemy,” he said, adding that this secret of victory must be preserved.
Meanwhile, the US and Iran have reached an agreement on a 60-day memorandum of understanding (MoU) to extend the ceasefire and launch further negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme, Axios reported earlier this week.
However, US President Donald Trump has not yet given his final approval, and the Iranian side has also not confirmed its acceptance.
