In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, Ghalibaf claimed the future would belong to countries of the “Global South” as developing nations increasingly challenge the influence of Western powers in global affairs.

Ghalibaf, who also led the Iranian delegation during the first round of talks in Islamabad, described Saeed Jalili, a member of Iran’s National Security Council, and hardline Iranian MP Amirhossein Sabeti as "extremist militia-like actors who would destroy Iran."
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said, “In mediated negotiations, misunderstandings sometimes arose, such as on the issue of asset release. But in direct talks, we reached a clearer mutual understanding.”
Iran has said that implementation of ceasefire in Lebanon and release of frozen Iranian assets were the mutually agreed ceasefire conditions and that they must be fulfilled before the start of negotiations.
