Police claim accused opened fire

According to DCP Dhawal Jaiswal, police had received intelligence inputs suggesting that Asad would arrive in the Khoda region to collect money before escaping further. Based on the information, multiple checkpoints and surveillance teams were deployed across sensitive routes.

Police said Asad arrived on a motorcycle with another individual and was asked to stop for checking. However, instead of surrendering, he allegedly fired at the police personnel.

DCP Dhawal Jaiswal said the police retaliated in self-defence, during which Asad sustained bullet injuries. He was later taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment. A constable was also injured during the operation.

Stabbing case sparked outrage

The case relates to the killing of 17-year-old Surya Pratap Chauhan, who was allegedly stabbed on May 28 in the Khoda police station area. The teenager later succumbed to his injuries during treatment, prompting police to register a case against multiple accused persons.

Officials said five people were named in the FIR, and three accused had already been arrested earlier as part of the investigation. Asad had remained absconding since the incident, following which police announced a cash reward for information leading to his arrest.

Police teams also recovered a pistol and the motorcycle allegedly used by the accused during the encounter.

Surya’s family demands action against all accused

Reacting to the encounter, the victim’s mother said she wanted confirmation that the deceased in the operation was indeed Asad. She also demanded strict action against all others allegedly involved in the murder of her son.

She claimed that several people were responsible for the attack and called for strong punitive action against every accused linked to the case.

Police said further investigation into the murder case is underway. Officials are also examining the role of other accused persons named in the FIR and verifying additional local inputs connected to the incident.
