Indian shooter Esha Singh delivered a landmark performance at the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol leg in Munich, clinching gold in the women’s 25m pistol with a world record and junior world record score of 43.

The 21-year-old shot a composed qualification series (587 aggregate across precision and rapid fire) to enter the final in fourth place before exploding in the medal round. She opened with three consecutive perfect series, immediately separating herself from the field.

Esha’s consistency proved decisive as she built an early cushion, survived minor drops in the closing series, and still finished ahead of the previous record mark of 42. The performance marked her fourth individual ISSF World Cup medal.

In women’s 50m rifle 3 positions, India narrowly missed another final appearance. Ashi Chouksey finished just one point outside qualification (589), while Emely Jaeggi took the eighth spot on 590. Norway’s Jeanette Hegg Duestad won gold in the event.

India’s other shooters saw mixed results: Vidarsa Vinod placed 14th with 588, and Tilottama Sen finished 48th with 583. In qualification, Manu Bhaker (582) and Rahi Sarnobat (581) finished 12th and 14th, respectively.
