Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Sunday outlined a major vision for Bihar, announcing plans to invest Rs 50,000-60,000 crore in the state over the next three to four years in infrastructure and allied sectors.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Adani Eye Care Project at Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital in Bihar’s Saran district, Adani said the group has placed additional emphasis on Bihar’s infrastructure sector with a focus on achievable projects over the next three to four years.

He highlighted the state’s need for a reliable and affordable 24-hour electricity supply, better roads, improved infrastructure facilities and industrialisation. He said Bihar is currently passing through an important phase of growth and development, and its people should fully benefit from it.

However, he did not specify whether the planned investment includes already announced projects such as the Rs 29,000 crore Pirpainti Power Plant and the Rs 8,300 crore Bhagalpur-Munger Ganga Path, or whether the group is considering additional investments in new mega projects.

Bihar currently has several large projects awaiting funding and private sector participation to strengthen infrastructure, energy and connectivity across the state.

Adani also praised the people of Bihar for their hard work, simplicity and determination, describing being a Bihari as a matter of pride. He said the group would extend all possible support to the state to help create livelihood opportunities for its people within Bihar.

The expanded campus of the Adani-supported eye care project will progressively scale up its operations, including a large number of free or subsidised treatments for economically weaker sections.

Referring to the Adani Group’s approach, Adani said the group believes business should go hand in hand with service and that future initiatives would continue to focus not only on business growth but also on public welfare and community needs.

Later, Adani, along with his wife Priti Adani, met patients who had undergone surgery at the Adani Akhand Jyoti Eye Care Hospital at Mastichak in Saran. They also handed over discharge cards and health kits to patients recovering from surgery.

He further said the work carried out by the Akhand Jyoti team would continue to receive support and encouragement from the Adani Group, reaffirming the group’s commitment to service-oriented initiatives alongside business activities.
