The development comes nearly a month after the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested Hashim Baba gang shooter Shadab Ahamad alias Shadab Chappal, who had been absconding for the last two years.
Chappal is the nephew of jailed gangster Suhail Chappal. The Special Cell had recovered a semi-automatic pistol and five live cartridges from his possession.
According to the police, Shadab is allegedly involved in several cases of firing and extortion and had been evading arrest for nearly two years.
Last month, in a separate operation, the New Delhi Range team arrested another member of the same gang – Mohd. Adi alias Adil alias Tavis. A loaded pistol and six live cartridges were also seized from his possession.
