Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday mounted a fresh attack on the INDIA bloc, sharing video clips of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s past speeches to argue that the Opposition alliance lacks coherence and credibility.
The BJP leader’s posts on X sought to highlight what he described as contradictions within the alliance, even as its constituents continue to present a united front in Parliament.

In one of his posts, Rijiju wrote, “But they are ‘Best of Friends’ inside Parliament. They were all united in defeating women’s rights. INDI Alliance was a fraud from the very beginning.”
Rahul Gandhi’s past remarks resurface in political attack
Alongside the remark, Rijiju shared a video clip of Rahul Gandhi criticising Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. In the clip, Gandhi is heard referring to earlier political promises and raising allegations around governance, corruption, and infrastructure in Delhi.
He speaks about development work carried out during the tenure of former chief minister Sheila Dikshit, claiming that several projects, including roads, bridges and flyovers, have suffered since.
In a separate post, Rijiju targeted both the Congress and the Trinamool Congress, stating, “Trinamool Congress and Congress—both parties are the same.”
The post was accompanied by another video clip of Rahul Gandhi speaking about West Bengal, where he is heard alleging that access to jobs depends on proximity to the ruling TMC, and that benefits are not reaching the general public.
BJP sharpens attack on INDIA bloc narrative
Rijiju’s posts come as political sparring intensifies between the BJP and the Opposition bloc ahead of key electoral contests. By invoking Rahul Gandhi’s earlier statements, the Union Minister attempted to question the ideological alignment within the alliance and suggest that its leaders have been at odds with each other in the past.
The INDIA bloc, formed by several Opposition parties, has maintained that it represents a united challenge to the BJP, though public exchanges between leaders have occasionally drawn attention.
