On Sunday night, the tension reached a breaking point. After another heated exchange, Paras called his brother Pankaj Nayyar from Noida. Police said Pankaj arrived to intervene in the dispute, but the situation quickly escalated instead of calming down.

The three men got into a fresh argument. Voices rose, tempers flared, and the confrontation turned physical. What followed happened within seconds, and changed everything.

Gunshot fired during heated confrontation

Investigators said that during the argument, Gaurav Sharma allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired at Pankaj Nayyar. The bullet struck him in chest. Sound of gunfire woke nearby residents prompting emergency calls to the Police Control Room.

Police confirmed receiving two PCR calls: first at 2:22 am and another at 2:26 am. Officers rushed to scene and found Pankaj seriously injured. He was immediately taken to Malik Radix Health Care Hospital in Nirman Vihar. However, doctors declared him brought dead.

Officials said the accused and his accomplices fled the scene immediately after the firing. The police statement noted that the quarrel over parking led to the alleged firing and confirmed that the victim died from a gunshot injury to the chest.

Accused absconding, police launch manhunt

The case took another turn when Gaurav Sharma’s wife told police that her husband did not own any weapon. This statement has raised suspicion about whether the firearm was arranged beforehand.

Investigators are now trying to determine how the accused obtained the pistol and whether the shooting was planned.

Police said Gaurav Sharma is currently absconding, and teams have been formed to trace him. A First Information Report has been registered at Preet Vihar Police Station under Sections 103(1), 115(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.

Officials said efforts are underway to arrest the accused at the earliest.
