The new government, led by Samrat Choudhary, will be sworn in at 11 am on Wednesday at the Lok Bhavan. The Governor’s Secretary, Gopal Meena, had already visited Choudhary at his residence on Monday evening to review preparations for the swearing-in ceremony.

Along with Samrat Choudhary, senior JD(U) leaders, Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Choudhary, are expected to take oath as ministers. They are expected to be appointed as Deputy Chief Ministers.

This is being seen as part of the initial cabinet of the new government which will be expanded in future to maintain caste and regional balance. Several new faces may be given an opportunity, while some experienced leaders are also likely to be included.

After being elected leader of the BJP Legislative Party, Choudhary thanked the national leadership. He said Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, along with the party’s top leadership, had placed their trust in him and continuously entrusted him with responsibilities. He also thanked leaders and workers in Bihar for their support in strengthening the organisation.

He also said that under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and with the support of the NDA, he had the opportunity to run the government in Bihar and work for the people. He added that the people of Bihar have always shown faith in the BJP and the NDA, which is why the party has consistently received a strong mandate.

In a message posted on X, addressed to Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary said, “I have complete faith that under your guidance, Bihar will continue to move forward steadily on the path of development. Your highly successful tenure and model of good governance are a source of inspiration.”
