Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has strongly condemned the tragic death of Nithin Raj, a first-year BDS student at Anjarakkandy Dental College in Kannur.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Chief Minister Vijayan described the circumstances leading to the young student’s death as an “unforgivable crime” and assured that the entire state of Kerala stands in solidarity with Nithin’s grieving family.

The Chief Minister said that the incident is deeply painful and highlighted the need to address discrimination within educational institutions.

He also pointed to the central government’s delay in implementing the Rohith Vemula Act, which is intended to protect students from caste-based discrimination and harassment in higher education.
He emphasised that such incidents are a stain on a progressive society like Kerala and promised a thorough investigation.
