The summer heat is back again, and so are the endless home remedies, half-baked health hacks, and “cooling tricks” that people swear by on social media and in neighbourhood chats. But here’s the twist in this season’s story. Many of those so-called smart habits are quietly making things worse instead of better. From constant fatigue to sudden stomach trouble, the body often pays the price.
In the middle of all this sweaty chaos, Ayurveda steps in like an old wise friend by offering simple corrections that actually make sense. And yes, in this mix, many are also turning toward trusted herbal options like Patanjali products to survive the scorching days a little more smoothly.

Every summer, the same pattern repeats itself. People rush to ice-cold drinks, skip meals in the heat, and stay under fans or AC for hours without balance. It feels comforting at first but the body doesn’t always agree.

Doctors and traditional health systems both warn about heat-related issues like heatstroke, which can bring nausea, dizziness, fast heartbeat, and even fainting.
Dehydration is another silent troublemaker, showing up as dry mouth, constant tiredness, and dark urine that people often ignore until it gets worse.
Skin problems also become more common. Rashes, itching, allergies, and sunburn appear easily when the sun is harsh and sweat is not managed properly.
On top of that, rising pollen levels can trigger breathing issues like asthma in sensitive people.
And then there is food. Summer heat turns normal meals into risky business. Food spoils quickly, increasing chances of food poisoning, stomach upset, and acidity. Many of these issues don’t come from outside. It’s the everyday habits that quietly invite trouble.
This is where Ayurveda enters the picture with a very basic idea: don’t fight the heat, balance it.
Instead of overloading the body with cold drinks or skipping hydration, Ayurveda suggests cooling but nourishing options. One popular choice in this space is herbal refreshers like Bel sharbat, which is often used to reduce internal heat and keep the body hydrated.
Skincare also gets a natural upgrade. Herbal face washes and aloe-based gels are widely used to calm heat-stressed skin. Aloe vera is especially valued for keeping the skin fresh, light, and moisturised without making it oily or heavy.
For quick refreshment during travel or outdoor work, rose-based toners are often used. They help soothe the skin, reduce heat irritation, and give a mild cooling effect when the face feels exhausted under the sun.
Another traditional favourite is gulkand, made from rose petals. It is known in Ayurveda for its cooling properties and is often used for digestion support, mouth ulcers, and acidity, common complaints during peak summer.
