Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, during a surprise inspection of the State Goods and Services Tax (GST) office on Wednesday, reviewed the arrangements and the overall functioning of the office.

“I reviewed the working of the GST office by engaging the officers and staff in a discussions and took note of the operations and the working conditions in the office,” the chief minister said.

Rekha Gupta issued strict instructions to the officials of the GST office to ensure punctuality, cleanliness, and work culture in the office and warned that there would be no room for negligence, delays, or unnecessary complications in the operations. She asserted that government’s priority is to ensure that every process is transparent, simple, and seamless at the same time, because business is the backbone of the national capital’s economy, and the need is to make sure that traders can focus on their work without any obstacles.

The CM said that the Delhi government is committed to ensuring accountability in every department and providing the public and traders with a smooth, simple, and reliable system.
Gupta has been conducting such surprise inspections at different government departments and offices in an effort to avoid irregularities and ensure hassle-free transactions. Notably, the Rekha Gupta government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards administrative laxity and irregularities.

The CM emphasized time and again that her dispensation works with efficient governance, and the stance is characterized by swift disciplinary actions, including arrests, suspensions, and mandatory reporting of administrative performance.
