Addressing the House on Wednesday during the ongoing Budget Session, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta informed that another hoax call, specifically, an email, was sent to his office today.

According to the Speaker, the communication mentioned certain organisations allegedly linked to Naxalites and Pakistan-based units, and threatened an incident at 1:40 pm on Wednesday.

The Speaker further said that despite such threats, the House proceedings continued smoothly and without any interruption.

“I would further like to share that the email claimed 16 RDX-IEDs had been planted, with a plan to trigger blasts at 1:40 pm this Wednesday,” the Speaker mentioned.

He informed that in this connection, the Assembly had already forwarded the threat email received on Tuesday to the police, and the email received today has also been handed over to them.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police Bomb Squad came to the Assembly premises again today and conducted a thorough search.

Gupta has said that the Assembly’s clear instruction to the police is to probe this matter from every possible angle.

He emphasised that it is imperative to unmask the terrorist and anti-national forces that are being encouraged or supported through various channels within this country.

“The truth behind who is providing them patronage must be revealed,” the Speaker stated.

On Tuesday, following the threat email, Speaker Gupta said that the House can’t be deterred by such threats and will keep functioning to serve the people of the national capital.
