Cliff Booth returns! David Fincher to helm ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ sequel
In an unexpected turn of events, Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is getting a spin-off sequel with David Fincher at the helm.
Viral posts falsely claimed the filmmaker died in an Iranian missile attack and even misused a major media outlet’s name as proof. AI-generated images and unverified reports fueled the confusion before the claims were debunked.

Hollywood woke up to pure chaos this week. One minute, fans were scrolling through their feeds. The next minute, they were reading shocking posts claiming that director Quentin Tarantino had been killed in a missile attack. The internet tried to “bury” the man behind ‘Pulp Fiction’, and it was completely false.
Let’s slow this down.

According to sources quoted by Deadline, Quentin Tarantino is alive and well. The wild rumour started when an X (formerly Twitter) user with more than 150,000 followers posted that the filmmaker had died in an Iranian missile strike in Israel.

Within hours, the lie spread fast. The original post racked up over a thousand likes and was quickly shared by other accounts.
And it didn’t stop there.
Another viral post claimed that comedian Jerry Seinfeld had also been killed in a similar attack. There is absolutely no evidence to support this claim either. Still, that post gathered thousands of likes before people began questioning it.
As if fake death reports were not enough, multiple AI-generated images started circulating. These images claimed to show the ‘Kill Bill’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’ director hiding in a bomb shelter in Israel. They looked dramatic. They looked convincing. But they were completely fake.
Some posts were flagged as misleading by Grok, the AI tool connected to Elon Musk’s X platform. However, the spread of misinformation once again raised concerns about how social media platforms are handling false content.
The timing of these fake posts is not random.
Over the weekend, the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran. Reports say the attacks killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with other top officials. Iran retaliated by firing ballistic missiles at Israeli and American bases worldwide. The conflict has raised global tensions.
Tarantino splits his time between Los Angeles and Israel, where he lives with his wife, Israeli actress and musician Daniella Pick, and their two children. Because he spends part of the year there, rumour-makers tried to connect him to the ongoing conflict.
But here’s the truth: Quentin Tarantino is safe.
In the past, the director has openly said he loves living in Israel despite tensions in the region. For now, he is very much alive, no matter what your timeline tried to tell you.
