The BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting, scheduled to be held in the Pink City from March 5 to 7, 2026, has been postponed in view of rising unrest and tensions in the Middle East region.
The BRICS India Finance Track Team informed that the crucial meeting has been deferred due to disruptions in normal international travel schedules.

According to officials, the organisers were primarily concerned about the safety and security of delegates expected to arrive from various participating countries.
The main sessions of the meeting were slated for March 5 and 6 at the The Leela Palace Jaipur. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra were expected to attend the event.
Ministers and delegates from BRICS member nations — Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa — along with Egypt, were scheduled to participate in the meeting.
