A large number of people staged a protest by clapping and banging plates at the municipal corporation in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

Angry over the lack of development in several areas of the city, the residents reached the municipal corporation and expressed their frustration by banging plates with spoons to draw the attention of the municipal officials.

According to reports, drains in several parts of the city have not been cleaned. Many streets are in a dilapidated condition, making it difficult to walk on them, and water is flowing in the lanes, causing considerable inconvenience to the residents.

People from several wards, including women, facing similar problems, reached the municipal corporation. They continued to bang plates for a long time.

Residents said that they had repeatedly complained to the municipal corporation about the broken roads, streets, and drains, but no one was listening. Therefore, they resorted to this protest of banging plates to awaken the officials. The protest continued for a considerable time at the municipal corporation, after which some officials arrived and spoke to the people.

During the conversation, the officials assured them that their problems would be resolved soon. After receiving the assurance from the officials, the people dispersed and returned home
