Balkrishna wrote, “The news of the tragic demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Shri Ajit Pawar ji in a plane crash is very painful. May God rest his soul in peace and give strength to the family members in this time of grief. The untimely demise of Mr. Ajit Pawar is an irreparable loss. He was a hardworking leader whose dictionary had no words like ‘see’ and ‘do’; he only believed in quick karma. Before coming into politics, he stayed connected to the cooperative movement for a long time, which is considered the backbone of Maharashtra politics. Tearful tribute to the Patanjali family.”

Wednesday morning turned tragic when a chartered aircraft carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crashed near the Baramati airport runway. The visuals from the site showed the small plane engulfed in flames, smoke rising into the sky as rescue teams rushed in.
Along with Pawar, two other personnel, a personal security officer and an attendant, lost their lives, as did the two-member flight crew.
Officials confirmed that Pawar was on his way to Baramati for a public rally tied to the upcoming Zila Parishad elections. The small aircraft had departed from Mumbai the previous day, where Pawar attended a high-level Maharashtra Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Other state ministers, including Chandrashekhar Bawankule, were present at the Mumbai session.
Ajit Pawar’s political journey was closely linked to Maharashtra’s cooperative movement. It is long regarded as backbone of the state’s politics.
Many describe Pawar as a leader who preferred action over words. He earned reputation for being fast-moving, pragmatic, deeply involved in grassroots initiatives.
Over the years, Pawar had risen through the ranks of the Nationalist Congress Party to become its powerful deputy chief minister. He navigated both political storms and electoral campaigns with characteristic determination.
Social media and news channels are full of messages of condolence and shock. Political leaders, party workers, citizens expressed disbelief and sadness. They remember Pawar not just as a politician but as dedicated public servant.
The Patanjali family and spiritual circles joined the broader mourning across the state.
Authorities have launched a full investigation into the crash. Early reports suggest a possible technical or landing-related issue.
