Following the orders from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the case. Led by the Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Meerut Zone, the SIT will include the Divisional Commissioner, Meerut, and the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD).
The SIT has been directed to submit its report to the CMO within a period of five days.
Noida Authority CEO removed
As per the CMO statement, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M. has been removed from his post and put on the waiting list following the techie’s death after falling into a water-filled ditch in Sector 150.
Earlier today, the post-mortem report confirmed asphyxiation as the cause of death of the software engineer. The autopsy stated that Yuvraj died of asphyxia due to drowning, followed by heart failure or cardiac arrest.
According to locals present at the site of the incident, Yuvraj remained trapped inside the vehicle for a prolonged period after his car fell into the drain. He waited for help for nearly two hours. They further claimed that no official took any effective measures to rescue the techie, even when several departments had reached the spot.
The residents further highlighted that several complaints have been submitted in the past to the authority regarding safety hazards in the sector, particularly near the accident spot. However, residents alleged that departments just dodged accountability and did not take any corrective measures.
