UP Cabinet expansion: Major portfolio allocations

The cabinet meeting was held today after the Yogi Adityanath-led government expanded state cabinet and finalised the portfolio allocations for the newly inducted and promoted leaders. On Sunday, former UP BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary was inducted as a Cabinet Minister and assigned the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises department, a key sector linked to employment generation and industrial growth in the state.

BJP leader Manoj Kumar Pandey has also been brought into the cabinet and given charge of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs department.

The reshuffle also elevated several ministers holding independent charge responsibilities. Ajit Singh Pal has been entrusted with the Food Safety and Drug Administration department, while Somendra Tomar has been assigned Political Pensions, Sainik Kalyan and the Prantiya Rakshak Dal departments.

The oath of office to the newly inducted ministers was administered by Governor Anandiben Patel.
