Artists from across state to perform at Sangeet Mela

Bangla Sangeet Mela and Biswa Bangla Loksanskriti Utsav will start from tomorrow and continue till 1 January, 2026, said Indranil Sen, state minister for Information and Cultural Affairs, today.

Bangla Sangeet Mela and Biswa Bangla Loksanskriti Utsav will start from tomorrow and continue till 1 January, 2026, said Indranil Sen, state minister for Information and Cultural Affairs, today.

The programmes will be held in 11 auditoria across the city. They are Rabindra Sadan, Sisir Mancha, Ektara Mukta Mancha, Bangla Academy Sabhaghar, Hedua Park, madhusudan Mukta Mancha, Deshapriya Park, Jodhpur Pragati Sangha ground, Rabindra Okakura Bhavan, Rajya Sangeet Academy Mukta Mancha and the ground adjacent to Charukala Bhavan.

The programmes will be held from 5 p.m. and more than 5000 vocalists, announcers, musicians will take part in the programmes. Artists from the districts will also participate in the programmes.

An exhibition on the lives of Salil Chowdhury, Nachiketa Ghosh and Gouriprasanna Majumdar, whose centenary is being observed, will be held at Gaganendra Pradarshashala. The exhibition will be held till 1 January and will remain open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Artisans from the districts will join the fair in the vicinity of Rabindra Sadan and Nandan with their produce and various types of food that are famous in their districts. There will be a book stall by the information and cultural affairs department
