CM Sukhu dedicates Rs. 69 crore development projects to Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during his one-day visit to the Ghumarwin Assembly Constituency in Bilaspur district on Wednesday, dedicated development projects worth about Rs. 69 crore to the people, marking a significant boost to infrastructure and public facilities in the area.

The projects included the inauguration of two completed works and the laying of foundation stones for five new initiatives aimed at strengthening civic amenities, connectivity and public safety.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Ghumarwin Police Station, built at a cost of Rs. 4.82 crore, providing modern infrastructure and improved facilities for the police force. He also inaugurated a check dam and dyke over the Seer Khad, constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.67 crore, which is expected to help in flood protection and water management for the surrounding areas.

Laying foundation stones, Sukhu announced the construction of a multi-purpose sports complex near the Tikkari Helipad in Ghumarwin at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.08 crore, aimed at promoting sports activities and providing better facilities for youth.

He also laid the foundation stone for family quarters within the premises of the Ghumarwin Police Station, to be built for Rs 6 crore, which will improve residential facilities for police personnel.

To strengthen road connectivity, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for the upgradation of several key roads. These included the upgrade of the seven-km-long Amarpur–Hadsar–Dahad–Jaman–Ghumarwin road at Rs. 6.13 crore and the 31-km-long Ghumarwin–Barthin–Shah Talai road at an estimated cost of Rs. 34.95 crore. In addition, a 68-metre-long jeepable span bridge over the Seer Khad on the Badi Majhedwan–Dahad–Panol road at Badi Majhedwan will be constructed for Rs. 6.80 crore, improving connectivity for remote areas.

Earlier, on his arrival in Ghumarwin, the Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome by local residents. He interacted with people at various locations and patiently listened to their grievances, assuring them of timely redressal.
