Former German footballers and coaches meet MP CM

Former German footballer and well known coaches, Dietmar Beiersdorfer and Manuel Schäfer, called on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav at Bhopal on Tuesday.

They were accompanied by talented young footballers from the Vicharpur village, popularly known as ‘Mini Brazil’, in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Yadav congratulated all the players for their excellent performance and extended best wishes for success in future tournaments. He also welcomed both international coaches.

The players recently returned from an international training tour in Germany. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also praised the players of the Shahdol district during his radio broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Subsequently, on the instructions of the chief minister, the Sports Department arranged a tour for the football players of Vicharpur to Germany for training. The Department and the Indian Embassy facilitated the required financial and administrative arrangements. Before their foreign tour, the players were provided with football kits, sports shoes, fitness assessments, medical check-ups and pre-tour training sessions.
