MP CM disburses Rs 1,835 crore under Laadli Behna Scheme
The CM transferred the amount by a single click, at a grand Laadli Behna function held at village Mungwani in the Narsinghpur district of the state.
Assuring the bereaved family that the state government stands firmly with them, the CM announced a financial assistance of Rs one crore to them, and a job of Sub-Inspector to the younger brother of late Ashish Sharma by relaxing all eligibility criteria.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday laid a wreath and gave shoulder to the funeral procession of MP Police Hawk Force martyred Inspector Ashish Sharma (30) at the officer’s native village Bohani in the Narsinghpur district of the state.
Assuring the bereaved family that the state government stands firmly with them, the CM announced a financial assistance of Rs one crore to them, and a job of Sub-Inspector to the younger brother of late Ashish Sharma by relaxing all eligibility criteria.

Dr Yadav also said a park and a stadium would be built in the village in the slain officer’s name.

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar also paid tributes to the slain officer.
Late police inspector Ashish Sharma, who was killed in an encounter with Naxalites the previous day, was cremated with full state honours at his native village today.
Sharma’s mortal remains reached Bohani tofay afternoon, where a guard of honour was accorded to him before the funeral procession moved towards the cremation ground. Villagers showered flowers from rooftops as the procession passed.
Earlier in the day, a wreath-laying ceremony was also held in Balaghat before the body was brought home.
More than 5,000 people joined the final procession as slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Amar Rahe” were raised. The atmosphere in the village remained sombre as the family wept inconsolably.
A joint operation was launched on Wednesday morning by Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh police forces after inputs indicated the presence of Naxalites near Bor Talab in the border region of MP and Chhattisgarh.
Inspector Ashish Sharma, who was leading teams from all three states, sustained bullet injuries during the encounter and was taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Sharma had earlier received two gallantry medals for his exemplary services.
People known to the family said that Sharma’s wedding was scheduled in January 2026.
