Tamil television actor Manya Anand has spoken out about a disturbing experience she says she faced while being considered for a film project. Her revelation adds her name to the growing list of artistes who are bravely discussing the casting couch problem in the entertainment world.
In a recent interview with ‘Cineulugam’, Manya said that Sreyas, the manager of actor Dhanush, had allegedly approached her for a role but crossed a clear professional boundary. According to her, the conversation quickly turned inappropriate when he hinted at “commitment,” a word often used as a coded reference to unethical demands.

Manya shared that she was in shock when he asked her for this “adjustment.” She said she immediately asked him, “What commitment? Why should I give commitment?”

Her firm refusal, however, did not stop the manager. She claimed that after she declined, he pushed further by asking, ‘“You will not comply even if it’s Dhanush sir?”
Despite her clear discomfort, Manya alleged that he continued to contact her repeatedly. She said he even sent her a script and shared the location of Wunderbar Films, Dhanush’s production house, hoping she would eventually agree.
But Manya had already made up her mind. She said she had no intention of working on the film and did not even read the script. Reflecting on the situation, she added, “We are artists. We do our work. You take work from us, but don’t expect anything else. If we agree to these demands, people will call us something else. It is better if people recognise this pattern and fix it.”
