Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Monday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP have cheated people, and now, when byelections are being held in only 12 wards of the MCD, it is not going to make any difference to the two parties.
In an appeal to Delhi’s residents, Yadav said the forthcoming by-election is the time for the people to come forward and teach a lesson to the two parties, accusing them of indulging in only vote bank politics.

Yadav urged the citizens of Delhi to vote for the Congress in the MCD byelections, ”as people were fed up with the deteriorating law and order conditions in the capital”.

He also added that the grand old party has selected the candidates after careful consideration of their ground-level work in their respective wards and their popularity among the voters.
He said that the Delhi Congress was confident that the party candidates would emerge victorious with impressive margins in the by-elections.
He alleged that the Rekha Gupta government was manipulating the pollution figures to cover up its failures and mislead the people.
The Congress leader further alleged that the BJP government applied high-handed methods on youngsters who recently came out to protest against the soaring air pollution at India Gate, which he claimed exposed the power-drunk arrogance of the ruling dispensation.
Yadav claimed that the Congress candidates were on a good wicket to win the by-elections to the 12 MCD Wards (MCD) with impressive margins.
Yadav claimed that his party had always focused on good governance in the MCD with massive development works and implemented schemes beneficial to the people, particularly the poor and the downtrodden, when it was in power in the corporation and in the Delhi assembly.
