It was a proud day for Malayalam cinema as the winners of the 55th Kerala State Film Awards were revealed and superstar Mohanlal made sure to celebrate the moment in a warm and emotional way. The actor sent a loving message to his dear friend and industry legend Mammootty who earned the Best Actor title this year.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mohanlal posted a heartfelt note. He wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of the Kerala State Film Awards! Special love to my Ichakka for winning Best Actor.”

Mohanlal didn’t stop there. He also praised other winners sending shoutouts to those who made a mark this year. He applauded Shamla Hamza, who received the Best Actress award, and congratulated Chidambaram, who was honoured as Best Director.
The actor further celebrated the team of Manjummal Boys, calling for applause for their grand win as Best Movie. The actor also mentioned talents like Asif Ali, Tovino Thomas, Jyothirmayi, and Darshana Rajendran for their standout work this year.

On the women’s front, Shamla Hamza took home the Best Actress award for her performance in ‘Feminichi Fathima’, directed by Fasil Muhammed. Meanwhile, filmmaker Chidambaram scooped two honors of Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for the blockbuster survival thriller ‘Manjummel Boys’.
‘Manjummel Boys’, which has been loved by critics and audiences alike, proudly claimed the Best Movie title.
The award announcements were made by Minister of Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian at a press conference. This year’s jury was led by actor Prakash Raj. It included respected names like Ranjan Pramod, Jibu Jacob, Santhosh Echikkanam, Gayathri Ashokan, Nithin Lukose, and Bhagyalakshmi.
As for ‘Bramayugam’, the film not only earned Mammootty top honours but also became a massive box office hit after its release on February 15, 2024.
