During the three-month campaign, a comprehensive strategy will be implemented to combat Chitta, followed by strict action against the Chitta mafia at the grassroots level.

The Chief Minister will personally monitor the campaign at the state level. He directed that all government representatives, police personnel, various departments, volunteers, students, and other stakeholders work in close coordination to ensure the campaign’s success. A special emphasis will be placed on awareness and prevention of drug abuse.

Anti-Chitta rallies will also be organized at the district, sub-division, and block levels.
A special cell within the police department will be established to intensify the crackdown on Chitta networks and ensure sustained enforcement.

The Chief Minister said that the police department has already identified the panchayats most affected by Chitta and special attention will be given to these areas.

Anti-Chitta volunteers will be trained in colleges to assist in awareness and monitoring activities.
The police department will develop an integrated strategy to guarantee the campaign’s effectiveness.

To curb the illegal trade and use of narcotics, drug prevention committees have been constituted at the panchayat level.

A notification to this effect has already been issued. Each committee will consist of seven members, including the chairperson, and will hold monthly meetings to assess the situation, prepare reports on Chitta-related activities, and share these with law enforcement agencies.

These committees will organize awareness programmes in schools and public places on drug prevention and its adverse effects, and coordinate their reports with the respective Deputy Commissioners.

The Chief Minister said that the drug prevention committees would play a pivotal role in curbing the illegal drug trade and promoting awareness up to the panchayat level.
