Leh gets its first public green space at Choglamsar
The Leh city of Ladakh on Monday received its first public green space with the inauguration of the restored and redeveloped Choglamsar Protected Forest, on the banks of the River Indus.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena on Friday referred to Sardar Patel’s visionary thought in which he described the civil services as the “steel frame” of the nation, while he also paid tributes to the country’s first Home Minister Patel on his 150th birth anniversary at seminar held at the Directorate of Training (UTCS) here on the occasion.

He said that Sardar Patel’s leadership, firm resolve, and vision of a strong and united India laid the foundation of the country’s administrative and democratic structure.

Addressing the officers, he emphasised that their role is no longer confined to mere administration, adding that they must also serve as innovators, communicators, collaborators, and leaders of change.
Saxena urged officers to make transparency, ethics, and the principle of Antyodaya; service to the last person the core of their work.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who was also present on the occasion stated that Patel’s indomitable courage, foresight, and exceptional organisational abilities strengthened the unity and integrity of independent India, adding that everyone must draw inspiration from the life and values of the great leader.
Gupta remarked that civil servants are the driving engine of the nation’s administrative machinery and play a crucial role in determining the nation’s direction of progress.
Addressing the trainee officers, the CM said that training and education only provide the tools, but how these tools are used depends on the intent, vision, and energy of the officer.
Delhi’s Chief Secretary Rajeev Verma, Director of Training Prashant Goyal, and other senior officials, were also present in the seminar that focused on Sardar Patel’s life, ideals, commitment, and his contribution to strengthening the civil services.
