Sharma said that the Rajasthan government, too, contributes an additional fund to the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, a flagship programme of the central government, to enhance benefits for ‘annadata’ (food grain producers).

Besides this, the Dhan Dhanya Yojna, Kisan Crop Insurance Scheme, Gopalan Cattle Insurance Scheme, and Gopalan Credit Card are other initiatives that cater to the needs of farmers, he said.

“The Centre and the state government have so far disbursed Rs 8,386 crore to 70 lakh farmers in the state under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana,” he said.

Under the Dhan Dhanya Yojna, which is being implemented in 100 districts across the country, the scheme aims to reorganise the crop cycle and provide due encouragement for sowing and harvesting high-value cash crops, the CM said.

Eight districts of Rajasthan — Barmer, Jalore, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Pali, Bikaner, and Churu — have also been included in the scheme, and the results are encouraging, Sharma said.

Under the Gopalan short-term loan scheme, the financial needs of peasants are being addressed. For this purpose, interest-free loans totalling Rs 43,000 crore have been provided to around 70 lakh farmers.

“For better working conditions for farmers in the fields, our government is committed to providing power during the daytime for crop irrigation in all districts of the state by 2027, Sharma said, adding, “We are currently providing power in shifts during daytime in 22 districts.”

Earlier, the Chief Minister released the fourth instalment of the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi via direct bank transfer (DBT) of around Rs 718 crore to 71.89 lakh farmers.

State Water Resources Minister Suresh Rawat, Cooperative Minister Gautam Dak, and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham were also present on the occasion.
