In the next 80 days, more than 30 major and memorable national and international cultural events will be lined up for the national capital, something that has never happened before.

To facilitate and ensure that such events are organized smoothly, a single-window system has been introduced for their permissions, logistics, and security processes.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said rentals of the major stadiums and auditoriums have been reduced to make Delhi an ‘event-friendly city’. These venues are also being upgraded to international standards, as per the chief minister. All these steps are being taken by the state government to promote cultural diversity and the spirit of national unity.

At a press conference held at the Delhi Secretariat, the CM shared this information, while Delhi’s Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture Kapil Mishra, also shared his views regarding the initiatives in this direction.

Renowned artists from India and abroad are going to perform in the national capital in the coming 80 days.

These include Travis Scott, Krishna Das, Zakir Khan, Papon, AP Dhillon, Armaan Malik, Jonita Gandhi, Radhika Das, and many other stars.

She said the initiative is being undertaken jointly by the Delhi government, the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA), and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) to ensure that these events maintain high standards, run smoothly without any administrative or logistical difficulties, and provide complete enjoyment to the audience.

According to the CM, the “Concert Economy” is an important economic sector for states, which deserves serious attention.

Gupta expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for their continued cooperation, which has enabled the Delhi Government to take significant steps in this direction.

She mentioned that there used to be a time when organizers hesitated to hold large concerts and events in Delhi due to lack of facilities and institutional support.

Notably, the CM has said the single window system regarding the permissions for events has been successfully used for organizing the Kanwar Yatra, Ramlila Committees, Durga Puja, and Chhath Puja, and now, the same model is being applied to the event management sector so that Delhi can further advance in the ease of doing business.

Delhi government will be developing new world-class event venues equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, where lakhs of people can attend concerts and cultural programs together.

Minister Kapil Mishra said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to make Delhi the center of live entertainment and the “Concert Economy,” and CM Gupta has prepared a practical roadmap to implement this vision.

According to Mishra, a detailed process has been followed behind this transformation, while the state government had held a meeting with over 40 key representatives from EEMA, FICCI, and the event industry, in which the CM herself participated actively and provided valuable suggestions.
