Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said that the country can become self-reliant and developed if young people work hard and play an active role in nation-building.
Speaking at the ‘Namo Run’ while welcoming the participants, Gupta also paid tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary. She recalled his supreme sacrifice at the young age of 23, which continues to inspire generations to take responsibility for the nation.

As part of the ongoing service fortnight in the national capital, launched to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a special ‘Namo Run’ was organised across the city. The run began at fifteen different locations and concluded at Central Park in Connaught Place.
Gupta said the event showcased the energy, determination, and spirit of Delhi’s youth in contributing to nation-building. Over 7,500 children and young people enthusiastically participated under the banner of Viksit Delhi.
The Chief Minister said the ‘Namo Run’ represents a people’s movement to realise the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi (Developed India, Developed Delhi). She added that the run symbolises a new India, a stronger Delhi, and unwavering dedication to public service.
She further noted that the massive participation reflected the commitment of India’s youth to shaping a bright future for the nation. Under the Tricolour at Central Park, participants also took a pledge to actively contribute to the country’s progress.
Delhi Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, speaking on the occasion, said the run was not just a sporting event but also a symbol of collective determination and public participation in building a strong Delhi and a developed India. He added that the overwhelming turnout of young people proved that Delhi’s citizens are united in realising the Prime Minister’s vision.
