The committee of representatives of Delhi’s villages protesting against the toll tax on the UER-2 decided in a meeting on Friday to give a month’s time to the Centre to work out a workable solution for the city’s rural belt along the new corridor on the issue.
The villagers led by Palam 360 Khap chief Surender Solanki have decided to hold a “Mahapanchayat” on October 26 on the movement if the government does not resolve the issue arising from the imposition of on toll tax on the national capital’s villages for using the UER 2.

Solanki informed that, through the Sakal Panchayat, Delhi’s villagers may seek the support of the Khap Panchayats and their farmer brethren from Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh for the movement if the government does not come up with a solution.
The Khap chief indicated that the next round of talks might be held soon with the Central government’s decision on the issue.
Earlier on September 21, a Mahapanchayat was held in Bakkarwala village where two local MLAs had met the villagers and had assured their cooperation to the panchayat with regard to keeping their view before the centre in this matter.
